Audio Lesson: An Introduction to Writing Formulas in Excel on Mac with Voiceover

CAD$25

This lesson will walk you through the basics of how to write formulas in Excel on Mac with Voiceover.

It assumes that you already have some basic knowledge of how to use Excel like entering and editing data, selecting cells, moving data around in a worksheet, adding rows and columns, etc.

Here's what you'll learn:

  1. How formulas are written in Excel, (in a general sense), and what's required to write them.
  2. A few of the most common different ways of entering formulas into sheets at a very basic level, including:

A. How to type equations into cells, in the same way that you would do on a standard calculator.

B. How to control whether Voiceover reads aloud the value in the cell, or the formula used to create that value.

C. How to write a formula by entering in the values' cell coordinates (e.g. A1+B1), instead of typing in the values themselves.

D. How to enter in formulas by navigating to the actual cells in the sheet that contain the specific values you want to include, rather than typing in the cell coordinates or values themselves.

3. You'll learn what the terms relative, and absolute reference cells mean and when to use them.

  1. How to add up desired cells by using the SUM function.
