Audio Lesson: Getting Started with using Excel on Mac with Voiceover

CAD$20

This introductory lesson will lay down the groundwork for any beginner who would like to learn how to use Excel on Mac with Voiceover.

It assumes that you are already comfortable with using Mac and Voiceover in general, but doesn't require you to have any familiarity with what Excel is or how it works. You'll learn the foundational/introductory skills required to navigate through a simple Excel spreadsheet and what you'll need to know, to proceed through some of my more advanced lessons.

Here's what you'll learn:

  1. What excel is.
  2. How to launch Excel on your computer.
  3. What all the buttons are that appear on the main screen when the Excel app first opens.
  4. How to create a new workbook (or Excel file).
  5. How to save that workbook to a desired location and reopen it back up again.
  6. We'll walk through what an excel sheet looks like, how it's visually structured, and how to move around between the different cell coordinates within a sheet and move your cursor's focus to the cell you want to be in, either for entering, or reading data.
  7. How to move to the beginning of a worksheet.
  8. How to use the "Go to" command, to jump to a specific cell or point of reference.
  9. How to move to the beginning or end of a row, how to move to the top or bottom of a column, or to the end of a sheet.
  10. How to start entering data (words or numbers) into cells.
  11. How to edit the data you've entered, and how to have Voiceover announce the current row, or column your focus is on.
  12. How to rename the current spreadsheet.
  13. How to add new sheets into your workbook, move between sheets, and rename selected sheets you've inserted.
